Early polling places recommendations

 

The WA Electoral Commission acknowledges the importance of suitable Early Polling Places to support voter engagement with electoral processes. The WA Electoral Commission is in discussions with the Australian Electoral Commission and other State Electoral Commissions to benchmark current planning processes with the aim to move towards more dynamic, data driven, best practice planning processes.

Recommendation 23

The WA Electoral Commission should review its decision to allocate an Early Polling Place venue in each of the 59 electoral Districts and consider selecting strategic locations and identifying large Early Polling Place venues which are suitable and accommodate multi-district early voting, consistent with the Australian Electoral Commission’s model of allocating Early Polling Places.
