Western Australians have until 6pm tomorrow to vote in the WA local government elections.
“Local governments make decisions about a range of things that affect people’s day to day living, from footpaths and waste collection to events and parks,” said Electoral Commissioner Robert Kennedy.
“Local government elections are being held all over the state and this is your opportunity to have a say about what matters to you in your community.
“Completed postal ballots must be returned to the WA Electoral Commission by 6pm this Saturday. Anything received after this time won’t be counted.
“At the last local government election, more than 14,000 people missed out on having their votes counted because their ballots were received too late.
“It’s now too late to mail postal ballots so to make your vote count, hand deliver your completed ballots to your local council office or polling place by 6pm tomorrow.
“If your local government is doing an in-person election, make sure you vote in person tomorrow or do an early vote today.”
