Western Australia’s local government elections will go ahead as planned for Saturday 21 October.
Following today’s Federal Government announcement that the 2023 Federal Referendum (Voice) will be on Saturday 14 October, the WA Electoral Commission confirms this will not affect the date of the local government polls.
All timelines for WA’s local government elections remain unchanged. Candidate nominations will open tomorrow and close at 4pm, Thursday 7 September.
