Enrol by next Friday to have your say in local government elections

Eligible Western Australians have one week to enrol to vote or update their electoral roll details ahead of the local government elections in October.

“The electoral roll closes at 5 pm, Friday 25 August and you must be on the roll to have your say at the upcoming local government elections,” said Electoral Commissioner Robert Kennedy.

“If you’ve moved house, turned 18, changed your name, become an Australian citizen or haven’t yet joined the electoral roll, go to elections.wa.gov.au to enrol to vote, or to check or update your enrolment details.

“Local governments represent all members of the communities they serve, so it’s important everyone who is eligible to vote makes their voice heard at election time.”

Local government elections will take place on Saturday 21 October. For councils holding postal elections, election packages (ballots) will be mailed out in late September.

Enrol to vote or check or update your enrolment details.
