Rockingham voters have until 16 June to update enrolment for by-election
Residents in the Rockingham electorate are urged to update their electoral enrolment by Friday 16 June to make sure they can vote in the upcoming by-election.
A by-election for the District of Rockingham will be held on Saturday 29 July to fill a vacancy in the Legislative Assembly created by the resignation of the current member.
“To vote in the Rockingham by-election, eligible residents have until 6pm on Friday 16 June to either enrol to vote or to update their enrolment details,” said Western Australian Electoral Commissioner Robert Kennedy.
“If you live in the District of Rockingham and have recently turned 18 or become an Australian citizen, you’re strongly encouraged to enrol to vote so you can have your say at the 29 July by-election.
“If you’ve moved into or out of the Rockingham area in the last couple of years or aren’t sure about your enrolment details, you can check and update your enrolment elections.wa.gov.au.
“If you’re not on the roll by 6pm on Friday 16 June, you won’t be able to vote, so it’s best to act quickly.
“As with all State elections, it’s compulsory for eligible electors to vote in the Rockingham by-election. If you can’t make it on polling day, there are opportunities for early voting or postal voting.”
