Voting in Australia's Democracy - Digital Pack for Schools

Designed specifically for teachers in Western Australian schools, Voting in Australia's Democracy Digital Packs provide a complete toolkit for delivering engaging curriculum-aligned lessons on electoral processes.

The packs cover key aspects of Australia's democratic system — including how voting works, why it matters, levels of government, voter eligibility, preferential voting, what happens on election day, the counting of votes and determining election results. 

Each pack includes:

  • A ready-to-use PowerPoint presentation

  • Detailed teacher instructions and clearly defined learning outcomes

  • Materials for conducting a classroom preferential voting election

Two versions are available for download:

  • Primary Pack for Year 5 and 6 teachers
  • Secondary Pack for high school teachers
