Student elections are a dynamic way of exposing students to Australia's election process and help foster a democratic environment within schools. Holding a student election gives students a platform to voice their opinions, develop leadership skills and actively participate in school governance.
This Digital Pack provides step-by-step instructions and templates for running a school election - from planning and candidate nominations to voting and announcing the results - to assist schools with delivering a vibrant and engaging student election experience.
It is recommended that student participation in elections is from Year 5 onwards only. Election activities are not suitable for PP-Year 4 age group.
